LIBERACIÓN TORTUGA BOBA (CARETTA CARETTA)
Promar Almería (Almería-España) liberó el pasado Domingo día 27 otro ejemplar de Tortuga Boba (Caretta caretta) en la costa de Almería.
El animal había varado meses antes debido a una neumonía, según se diagnosticó en primera instancia; tras su recuperación en el Centro Veterinario de PROMAR, finalmente se pudo planear su reintroducción en mar abierto.
Dicha liberación se produjo a una milla de la costa, y en ella participaron 3 embarcaciones particulares, así como un nutrido grupo de voluntarios.
El animal fue previamente marcado con un “microchip” identificativo, y se aprovechó la oportunidad para obtener imágenes de video y fotografías, tanto dentro como fuera del agua.
Nuestro especial agradecimiento a todos los voluntarios allí presentes, así como a los miembros de la Red de Varamientos de la ciudad de Melilla y al Club de Buceo Cabo de Gata-Níjar (Sección del Centro de Actividades Naúticas de Almería) por su especial colaboración.
Last Sunday 27th it was got back to the sea another marine turtle (Caretta caretta) in Almería coast (Spain) by the hand of Promar Almería.
This animal got stranded some months ago with pneumonia, as it was determined by the vet team of PROMAR. After its recovering at the vet center, lastly it was considered the moment to get it back to freedom.
She was released in open water at 1 mile from the coast, with the work of three volunteer boats, some divers and other people, filming and helping on the place.
The animal was lastly marked with a microchip for its identification.
Our special gratitude to every volunteer helping there, and very specially to the Stranding Network of Melilla, and Diving Club “Cabo de Gata-Níjar” of Almería (both Spain).
